QAU Wants Rangers to Deal with Violent Students

When a violent altercation broke out between two student governments on campus on Monday, Azam University (QAU) has asked for the deployment of Rangers in response to the situation.

The officials at the institution have written a letter to the Ministry of the Interior requesting prompt action to be taken in order to restore order and safeguard the safety of students, teachers, and staff.

According to reports, a fight broke out between student councils representing the Pashtun and Baloch ethnic groups at the institution, which resulted in the injuries of a number of students and substantial damage to academic property.

The administration of the institution made an effort to mediate the disagreement that existed between the two student councils; nevertheless, their efforts were for naught.

So, in order to keep law and order at the institution, the Rangers are going to be sent there to do their job. They will establish checkpoints across the campus and its dormitories in order to locate, identify, and expel any unauthorized visitors. The Rangers will remain in their current location until the situation returns to normal.

A range of responses have been received in response to the deployment of Rangers. Some students and staff members have expressed their approval of the action, viewing it as an essential measure to take in order to guarantee their safety. Some, on the other hand, have voiced their concerns regarding the presence of Rangers on campus and the possibility of power abuse.

The management of the institution has given students and faculty members their word that the deployment of the Rangers is only a temporary measure, and that they will work closely with them to find solutions to the underlying problems that led to the altercation.

The entire community is praying for a speedy resolution to the ongoing tensions at Quaid-e-Azam University and a return to normalcy on campus as the Rangers prepare to take up their duties at the university.

Because of the violent conflict, yesterday QAU made the announcement that the university will be closed until further notice. Also, the administrators at the institution gave the students the order to vacate all of the dormitories with immediate effect.
